Work Experience

Melissa Joynt has worked in the accounting field for over nine years and her concentration has been in determining, verifying and analyzing factual matters by the examination of accounting, operating and financial records; and the interpretation and communication of these financial facts along with calculations and recommendations, all in connection with claims under the legislated automobile insurance and with respect to litigation matters.

The types of engagements that she has been involved in include income benefit replacement for employed and self-employed individuals and calculation of future income losses.

Melissa started her career as an insurance adjuster before becoming an accountant and has personally been involved with over 1,000 accident benefit files.

These have included taxi drivers, truck drivers, home daycare providers, contractors, corporation owners, restaurant owners, drywall installers, movers, entertainers, coffee shop owners, importers and exporters, couriers, gardeners, doctors, massage therapists, dancers, accountants, sales people, cleaners, translators, real estate agents, nurses and teachers.

Melissa has conducted and participated in numerous seminars and workshops in addition to writing articles for several insurance industry publications.
