Work Experience

Gerry Bouwman has an honours B.A. degree in Management Accountancy and is a Certified Management Accountant. He is Vice President of Matson, Driscoll & Damico in Canada as well as the Canadian catastrophe representative for MD&D.

With over 14 years experience in forensic accounting, Gerry has provided expert reports for litigation matters in Canada, the U.S. and the Caribbean.

His professional concentration has been in determining, verifying and analyzing factual matters by the examination of accounting, operating and financial records; and the interpretation and communication of these financial facts along with calculations and recommendations, all in connection with claims under insurance coverages and in litigation matters.

Gerry has been involved in all types of engagements including business interruption, extra expense, inventory, course of construction, entertainment, accident benefit losses and physical damage claims; forensic accounting; product liability, recall and contamination cases; lost profits, breach of contract and wrongful death.

He has been involved with a broad range of transportation losses dealing with issues such as theft and physical damage.

He has also provided arbitration, appraisal, mediation and catastrophic loss services.

In addition to writing articles, he has conducted numerous seminars and workshops for insurance and litigation professionals.
